Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented PCBA Inspector to join our manufacturing team in Fremont, CA. In this role, you will inspect printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) throughout the production process to ensure compliance with IPC standards, customer requirements, and internal quality specifications. The ideal candidate has strong electronics manufacturing experience and a keen eye for identifying workmanship defects and quality concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of PCBAs, subassemblies, and finished products
  • Inspect SMT and through-hole components for proper placement, polarity, solder quality, and workmanship
  • Verify assemblies against engineering drawings, work instructions, BOMs, and customer specifications
  • Conduct inspections in accordance with IPC-A-610 standards
  • Identify, document, and report nonconforming materials and products
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections
  • Utilize inspection tools including microscopes, calipers, measuring devices, and magnification equipment
  • Follow ESD and Moisture Sensitive Device (MSD) handling requirements
  • Support failure analysis and quality investigations as needed
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation
  • Assist with MRB activities and disposition of nonconforming material
  • Ensure compliance with company quality, environmental, health, and safety procedures
  • Support continuous improvement and 6S initiatives within the production area

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of PCBA inspection experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards (Certification preferred)
  • Experience inspecting SMT and through-hole assemblies
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and BOMs
  • Proficient in the use of microscopes, calipers, and other inspection equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Effective communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • IPC-A-610 Certification
  • Experience with EMS or high-volume electronics manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES quality tracking systems
  • Knowledge of ISO quality standards and ESD procedures
